Martha passed away suddenly from this life the morning of July 2, 2019 from declining health. She was surrounded by her loving family and care providers during the last days of her life. Martha was born in Tallahassee, Florida but has resided in Hampton, VA since 1986.

Martha is survived by her loving husband of forty-nine years, Tyrone Woods, her children Jeffrey Hill (Trina), Paula Hill, Judith Hill-Walker (Larry Hailey), LaTrecia Woods (Melvin) and Kareem Woods (Heather) as well as six grandchildren, Jessica Hill, Jordan Hill, Corbin Hill, Ryan Woods, Riley Woods and Jayden Woods, two great grandchildren, Ethan and Laila and a host of nieces and nephews including a beloved nephew, Cedric Slater. She is preceded in death by her mother, Martha Lee Slater and her father, Jake Glover.

Martha is also survived by her sisters and brother, Jeanette Warren, Hattie Lipscomb, Marie Dunn, Betty Collins, Willie Costa and Cilas Slater. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Andrew and Jimmy.

Martha had a special daughter, Niskah Pendleton and special grandchildren Ezrayah Pendleton, Rahsheedah Pendleton, Kalayah Pendleton, Salekyah Pendleton, Ahaviyah Pendleton and Todiyah Pendleton whom she loved dearly.
Martha received her Associates Degree from John Hancock University in 1972 and was employed with AAFES for thirty years until her retirement in 2001. She devoted the rest of her life to being a loving and doting grandmother, mother and wife. Her family was her life.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, July 6, 2019 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Viewing will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
