Melvin Yarbrough, 77, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on June 4, 2018 in his home surrounded by family and friends. He was a native of Cleveland, Ohio and was born to the late Callie and Yerger Yarbrough, Sr. Melvin was married to the late Mary Kaye "Cookie" Brinkley Yarbrough. He served in the U.S. Army. He retired as a Supervisor from the United States Postal Service after 36 years of service. He was a loyal member of the Dochiki Civic and Social Club, a Mason, Virginia Association of Letter Carriers and a former member of several bowling leagues.

He leaves to cherish his memory a host of family and friends. A funeral will be held 11 a.m., Monday, June 11, 2018 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. At the funeral home on Sunday, viewing will begin at 11 a.m. and the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m.
