Michael Wayne Sullivan was born September 9, 1961 at Fort Monroe, Virginia to Junius A. Sullivan, Sr. and Ella Louise (nee Lee) Sullivan (Adkins), both of whom preceded him in death. After a lengthy illness, on Monday, March 6, 2017 he went home to be with his Heavenly Father.

After leaving the Peninsula at a very young age, Michael spent his formative years first in Philadelphia, PA and then in New London, CT. He returned to Newport News, VA and in his young adult life he met Dena Young. Michael and Dena had two beautiful daughters, Nakita and LaMeisha 'Mee-Mee' Young. Mee-Mee preceded him in death.

Michael loved his family and people in general. He had a heart of gold and would do whatever he could for those he loved. He enjoyed watching movies and football. His favorite team was the Washington Redskins. Michael really appreciated a good meal and loved cooking out in the yard with his friends. He had a passion for fishing, riding his Moped and socializing. Michael loved spending time with his brothers and could talk for hours on end.

Memories of Michael will be cherished by: his daughter, Nakita Young; grandchildren, Destiny Jensen, Tanayah DeGroat, Amina-Sharay Neal and Curtis Neal, Jr.; brothers, Junius 'Snooks', Jr., Victor 'Chico' and Ronald Sullivan and Vincent and Clinton Adkins; his aunts, uncles, niece, nephew, cousins, extended family members and many dear friends.
