Milton D. Garrett, husband of Barbara T. Garrett, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 18, 2017. He as the second of three children born to the late David and Lucille Garrett.

Milton was a 1956 graduate of Huntington High School and attended Johnson C. Smith University and Virginia Union University.

He was a member of First Baptist Church East End and served on the Senior Usher Board. Milton was an active member of the Dochiki Civic and Social Club.

He was preceded in death by his brother, David Garrett.

Milton's memories will be cherished by his loving and devoted wife, Barbara, and daughter, "Andi", both of Hampton; grandson, Emmanuel Alovor of McDough, GA; sister, Doris G. Wheeler (James) of Newport News; niece, Ingrid Garrett; nephew, David Garrett, Jr.; great niece, Vinetta Garrett; brothers-in-law, Donald Cosby (Santa) and Anthony Cosby (Adrienne); special cousins, Leslie Bailey; and many cousins in Reidsville, NC and Hampton, VA.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2017 at First Baptist Church East End. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and two hours prior to the service at the church on Friday. O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
