Milton Tyrone Washington

Milton Tyrone Washington affectionately known as "Ty" unexpectedly transitioned to his eternal rest October 19th. The eldest of four, Ty was born March 24, 1954 at Ft. Eustis to the late Milton C. Washington and Juanita B. Washington.

Tyrone attended public schools in both New Kent County, Virginia and Hampton, Virginia. Ty served in the United States Navy. After several tours, he was employed by the City of Newport News and later was a welder for Newport News Shipbuilding. Ty is survived by his mother, Juanita B. Washington, 1 sister, Stacey Toatley, 2 brothers, Dwaine Washington and Jonathan Washington, 1 daughter, Felicia Aursby and 1 grandson, August Malone, along with a host of other relatives.

Tyrone had a great sense of humor. He had great faith and always started conversations by saying "I am strong." We, as a family, realize strength comes from above and it's that strength that we rely on while reflecting on our loved one during this difficult time.

Interment with Military Honors by the United States Navy will take place at 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.   O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
