Ms. Montia Poindexter, 23, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017. She was a lifelong resident of Newport News. She graduated from Heritage High School in 2011.

Montia will be missed by many. She had a major impact on everyone she came in contact with. She was a beautiful young woman who had a passion for making others look and feel equally as beautiful. She was a Cosmetology student whose passion for makeup came with big dreams that Montia began putting into place. Those who knew and loved Montia will miss her dearly.

She leaves to cherish her memory her most adorable son, Chaz.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Dunamis Christian Center, Newport News. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 3-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and two hours prior to the service at the church on Saturday. O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
