Mozell Day Allford transitioned peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on April 11, 2022.  She was born on June 24, 1959, in Newport News, Virginia to Doris Green and James W. Day.

Mozell was educated in the Newport News Public Schools System and employed in the hospitality industry for many years prior to joining Riverside Regional Medical Center.  She remained a dedicated employee at Riverside until her health no longer permitted her to perform the duties she loved.

Being a woman of strong faith and devotion, Mozell consistently shared encouraging words of comfort, wisdom, and care to those she loved and the patients she assisted.

Mozell was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Hampton, Virginia, for many years and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Willie Green: sister, Myrtle Day; and niece, Jamikia Day.

Mozell is survived by her husband, Kevin Allford; sons, Antonio Day of Philadelphia, PA, and Calvin Day (Kristy) of Virginia Beach, VA; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; brother, James E. Day (Debra) of Newport News, VA; and a host of extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2022 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
