Olga departed this life on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband Hilliard Carpenter, Sr.; her mother, father and all of her siblings. She leaves to cherish her memory her children Hilliard Carpenter, Jr., of Newport News, Virginia; Debrah Bailey (Ronald) of Richmond Virginia; Fabiola Martin (Morris) of Newport News, Virginia; Tony Carpenter (Levaiors) of Metairie Louisiana; Shelley Carpenter of Newport News, Virginia; a great aunt Rhea Lucien of New Orleans, LA; grandchildren Odonus Carpenter, Darian Carpenter, Sonte Lloyd, Ramik Carpenter, Christian Carpenter, Coreyion Carpenter, KaDareon Carpenter, Mikayla Lloyd, Kadance Lloyd; a niece Felicia Gilbert; cousins Febiola Taylor, and Juliet Robertson; a devoted daughter-in-law Peggy Carpenter; devoted friends Ella Nash, Sarah Hellbaum, Betty Deavan, Doris Kemp, Lucy Sumler, Ann Ward; and a host of loving family members and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 765 J Clyde Morris Boulevard, Newport News, VA with Pastor Mark Nieting officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 2551 N. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, VA. Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 3009 Chestnut Avenue Newport News, VA, and two hours prior to the service at the church. A repast will be held at the Church after the interment.  O.H.
