Pamela Maxwell Cosby passed away on May 27th after a long battle with illness. She was the middle daughter of the late John R. Maxwell and Anthoinett V. Maxwell. "Pam," as she was known by her friends, was born on January 16, 1951 in Newport News, VA.

In March 1975 Pam symbolized her dedication to Jehovah by baptism as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. In her later years she rekindled her love for Jehovah and remained faithful despite her health failing; now she is at rest.

Pam's resolve and belief, as ours, is that death is only temporary for The Bible states that Lazarus died and was summoned back to life by the one called the "Resurrection and the Life," Jesus the Christ. – John 11:25: "Jesus said to her: "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life;"

Pam in her younger days was very studious in school, receiving top honors and even made the Dean's List. She also had a love for dancing, nature in all its glory and especially going to the beach!

Pam is survived by her son, Michael Jerome Cosby, Jr. (Kamaria); her daughter, Sheena Cosby-Ford (Maurice); her beloved grandchildren, Loreal, Ravin, Brooke, Skylah "Tune-Tune" and Kyra "Ky-Ky"; great grandchildren, Lexus, Lennox and one on the way! She is also survived by two sisters, Monalisa Daniels and Angela Jones; an uncle, carlton Rainey (Barbara); cousins, William "Kenny" Maxwell and Sara Maxwell; a host of nieces, a nephew, other cousins, spiritual brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 804 -41st St., Newport News. O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
