Patricia Yvette Gilchrist Neal

Patricia Neal was born in Hampton, Virginia, as the sixth child of Percell and Louise Gilchrist on October 20, 1964. She graduated from Hampton High School in 1983, then went on to attend Old Dominion University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business in 1987. Continuing her academic journey, Patricia obtained a master’s degree in business administration from Hampton University and an advanced degree in business from the College of William and Mary. Her professional career spanned more than thirty years with the City of Hampton. At Old Dominion University, she proudly became a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and was a member of the Hampton Chapter.

On March 18, 1989, Patricia married Todd B. Neal. Together, they welcomed three children: Patrick T. Neal, Christopher T. Neal, and Shania Neal.

Patricia was a devoted wife and mother, always placing her family at the heart of her life. She worked tirelessly to ensure they were cared for and their needs were met.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Percell and Louise Gilchrist, as well as her brothers Earl, Leonard, and Kenneth, and her sisters Elaine, Juanita, and Marion.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Todd B. Neal, her sons Patrick T. Neal (Lauren) and Christopher T. Neal, her daughter Shania Neal, and grandsons Isaac and John Neal. Patricia is also remembered by her mother-in-law Joan Neal, her siblings Hazel (Keith), Freda, Barbara (Troy), Viola (Michael), Joseph, and Ronald (Dee), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Second Baptist Church East End. Viewing will be from 3-6 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2026 at the funeral home and two hours prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
