Richard Wayne Alston transitioned this life on April 9, 2018. He was the son of the late Galwin "Joe" Alston and Minnie L. Alston. Wayne was a graduate of Huntington High School, Class of 1968.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Alston (Sandra). He is survived by his son, Richard Wayne Alston, Jr.; grandson, Richard Wayne Alston III; his mother; and his brother, Galwin "Al" Alston (Helena). Left with fond memories of Wayne are a host of family members in Tallahassee, FL.

The homegoing celebration will be held 11 a.m., Friday, April 13, 2018 at St. Paul AME Church, 2500 Chestnut Avenue, Newport News. The Rev. Dr. Oretha P. Cross will officiate. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and two hours prior to the service at the church on Friday. O. H.
