Obituary

Richard Martin Nunes, Sr. was born June 17, 1977 in Kington Jamaica to my grandfather, Clement Nunes and my late grandmoms, Pauline Pitter. Rich was the 2 nd oldest to 3 Brothers and 2 sisters (Tony, Junior, Althea, Shadequa and my late uncle Shawn)

Pops was very quiet and kept to himself, but when it was time to turn up he was the life of the party. He was an excellent cook just like his mom and always looked out for his family. Rich was born in Jamaica where he spent a few years with his dad and family.  When he finally came to the states, he found his passion for drawing, which came as second nature to him.  As a teen he came back to New York when in high school.  He met his high school sweetheart (Sandra) and had a mini him (JR).  He stayed in New York until the passing of his mom in 2004.  After her passing he moved to Virginia where he met his wife (Anthrea) and had my beautiful sister (Imoni).  Pop was back and forth from NY to VA until he found his heart, Melinda, and decided Virginia was his home to stay so both his kids would be together.  He loved gathering with family and friends especially listening to his old school reggae, but never as much as he enjoyed his video games. Everyone that knew my dad also knew that his video games were everything.

He was loved by many and always had encouraging words and knowledge to pass on, especially to his kids.  He went to Living Water Redeemed Apostolic of Christ and got baptized in 2007 where he accepted God as his Lord and Savior.  Sadly on February 2, 2023, dad went on home to be with his Lord at 46 years young (same as his mom).

He was preceded in death by his mom, Pauline; his grandmother, Evelyn; his brother, Shawn; uncle, Devon; and my mom, Sandra.

He leaves behind his children, Rich Jr. and Imoni Nunes; his father, Clement; his wife, Ann; his love, Melinda; his brothers, Tony and Junior;  sisters,  Althea and Shadequa; nephews, Tony, Devon and Tyler; nieces, Talia and Eliana; and host of cousins, aunts and uncles.

Dad, we miss and love u so much and we know u in good hands… love u dad
