Ronald Rodrick Sullivan was born August 23, 1960 at Fort Monroe in Hampton, Virginia to Junius A. Sullivan, Sr. and Ella Louise (nee Lee) Sullivan (Adkins), both of whom preceded him in death as did his brothers, Michael Sullivan, Clinton Adkins and Junius A. Sullivan, Jr. On Friday, June 9, 2023 he went home to be with his heavenly Father.

After leaving the Peninsula at a very young age, 'Ronnie', as he was affectionately known, spent his formative years first in Philadelphia, PA and then in New London, CT.  He returned to Newport News, VA as a teen to live with his aunt, Gloria Jean Lee who was truly a second mother to him.  Ronnie remained on the Peninsula for the balance of his life.

Ronnie loved to sing and dance and he loved music; Prince and Bob Marley were his favorites. He had a twinkle in his eye and an infectious smile.  Ronnie spent much time in his community helping the elderly and landscaping.  He also loved to go fishing with his brothers.  He had a kind and caring heart and a genuine love for his family and friends; he loved spending time with them.

Memories of Ronald will be cherished by: his brothers, Victor 'Chico' Sullivan and Vincent Adkins; his girlfriend, Brenda Caldwell; his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, cousins, extended family members and many dear friends.

There will be a viewing on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023  at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
