Rosa Lee Blunt entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 13, 2020 at home. Rosa was born Jun. 12, 1925, to the late Maggie Bailey and Leslie Bailey of Isle of Wight County, VA. Rosa was born in Isle of Wight, VA and spent numerous years in New York (Patchogue) before returning back to Virginia where she met and married the late Ashley R. Blunt, Sr. in 1947 and resided in Newport News, VA and Hampton, VA. She was affiliated with many social and civic clubs (Glowettes).   Rosa was a loving, warm hearted and kind woman.  Rosa ensured that all her family stayed together.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Tilton and Jackie Clarke and a special niece, Maggie Rowlett Grimes and nephews, Edward Lee Tilton; Paul Tilton and Andre Rowlett.

Rosa leaves to cherish her memories a devoted son, Ashley R. Blunt, Jr. of Hampton, VA.; grandson, Lindell L. Blunt of Newark, DE; granddaughter, Ja'Vonda Kelley of Apollo Beach, FL; two special great-granddaughters, Ty'Tiyana Blunt and Ja'keria Hargraves of Hampton, VA; two great-great-grandsons, Emory Boyd and Kasey Stith; and several dear to her heart great-niece and great-nephews to include, Ronnie Tilton of Northern, VA, Reggie Rowlett of Killeen, TX, Tyrone Rowlett of Newport News, VA, Michele Long of Hampton, VA and Stephen "Dinky" Tilton of Newport News, VA; along with two devoted and loving caregivers, Tonya Wiggins and Stacey Jah and a host of family and friends.

Viewing will be held at OH Smith & Son Funeral home from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 21.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Hampton Memorial Gardens.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
