Rosalie Nettie DeLeon went home to be with her Lord on April 17, 2017. She was born on August 31, 1927 to Earl and Eva Crump in Calvert County, MD. Rosalie had three siblings, Virginia Hart, Adrienne Lindsey and Earl Crump, Jr., of which she was the eldest. She moved to Queens, NY after her marriage to George Adolphus DeLeon on August 28, 1949, where they had four children, Kevin, Gail, Craig and Joy.
Rosalie was a mother to many throughout her life, including the children of her siblings, other family members and friends; Sharon and Earl Crump, Kathy Sypert, Chris Ladiner and children, Carla House and children and a host of many more. Her home, her heart and her table were always full.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George; eldest son, Kevin; sisters, Virginia Hart and Adrienne Lindsey; brother, Earl Crump, Jr.; her beloved niece, Lesia; nephew, Earl; and a host of other family members as she was the last surviving elder in the family tree.
Rosalie leaves behind two daughters, Gail Casanova and Joy DeLeon; one son, Craig DeLeon; three grandchildren, Francisco Casanova III (Nikita), Craig DeLeon, Jr. and Ryan Gabrielle DeLeon; five great grandchildren, Joshua, Samuel, David, Matthew and Naomi Rose.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 28, 2017 at O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hampton National Cemetery. Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home on Friday. O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
