Our beloved Sharon Michelle Smith (Sharon James) transitioned into eternal rest the morning of October 15, 2022.

Sharon was born to Thomas and Mary James on September 10, 1958, the youngest in a household of four. She graduated from Ferguson High School and completed postsecondary education at Key Business College. Sharon was known as a mother to many, extending her home, food, love, and support to those around her. Catering dinners and designing events were her passions, but her joy laid in bringing families together over extravagant meals.

Sharon was a faithful member of Greater Emmanuel Temple C.O.G.I.C. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary; and sister, Debra Harris. She is survived by her spouse, Craig Smith; daughters, Ameka Blaino (Daron), Kameisha James, Sharon Holloway (Charles), Jasmine Williams (Troy), and Jasmina Wright (Michael); siblings, Jennie Blanding of Prince George, Eliza Peterson (Pete), Thomas James Jr., Glenn James (Kevine), Monica Kidd (Alfred), and Janet Hall; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended daughters, and sons.

Viewing will be held 12-4 p.m., Saturday, October 22, 2022 at O.H. Smith and Son Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, October 24, 2022 at Ivy Baptist Church, Newport News.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
