Shirley Peele Smith died Friday, June 26th and went to her heavenly home. She was born March 6, 1940 in Hampton, Virginia. As a child, she was a member of Queen Street Baptist Church. Shirley is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Jimmison; her brother, Edward Carl Cain; and her family: son-in-law, Clifton Morris, daughter, Sharon Johnson (Randy Sr.), son, Irving Smith, son, Theodore Smith (Teresa), and daughter, Pauletta Delgado (Eduardo); grandchildren: Randy Johnson Jr (Jorden), Bryant Johnson, Helen (Smith) Nwabara, Samuel, Jeremiah, Isaiah and Lydia Delgado; and four great-grandchildren: Aiden, Cameron, Jalynn and Bryant Jr. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vanessa Morris, granddaughter, Vanessa Michelle Morris, and son, Edward Carl Smith.

Shirley was a person of deep Christian faith. She was a bible study leader with the International Bible Fellowship. She was blessed to participate and Volunteer on Mission teams in Russia and Sierra Leone, Africa. She is fondly remembered by her extended family, closest friends from school and church friends.
