Shirley Eloise Price Crawford-Whitaker passed away February 3, 2018. Shirley was born November 16, 1934 in Newport News, Virginia to Alma E. Price and Charles M. Price. Shirley has one sibling Tyrone Dumas, who resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Shirley attended Phenix High School. In 1951, Shirley married Reinaldo Vincent Crawford and had eight children, Reinaldo (deceased), Christopher (deceased), Kim, Charles (Kim), Kevin, Cheryl (Robbin), Frenchy and Angelo; a host of grandkids, great grandkids and great-great grandkids, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Shirley drove the school bus for the City of Hampton for 32 years (1962-1997) and received numerous service awards and certificates in recognition of appreciation and dedicated service to public education.
Shirley was kind spirited, generous, caring, understanding and loving person, no one was stranger to her. Shirley loved helping everyone. She loved reading the bible, gardening, all types of music, cooking and taking pictures.

A memorial service will be held 12 p.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 230-33rd Street, Newport News, VA 23607.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
