About Stacey…

Stacey Andrea De Rouen made her earthly debut at Whittaker Memorial Hospital in Newport News Virginia on November 17, 1962, thereby casting Carole (Atkins) and Wilbert De Rouen in their new role as parents. Accordingly, and much to their great delight, Elias and Julia Atkins relished their new roles as grandparents.

Stacey moved with her parents early in her life to Brooklyn, New York. It was there on one Father's Day that she began walking. The family was delighted that she took her first steps while her maternal grandparents, uncle, and aunt were visiting from Virginia. She spent the rest of the afternoon walking the same path through the kitchen over and over until everyone was exhausted just watching her do it. That became a family story that never failed to amuse over the years

As a little girl, Stacey was a huge fan of Sesame Street and of the color, purple. Purple remained her favorite color throughout her adult years. She loved books as well as being read storybooks. Best of all, she adored her baby sister, Kristi, and embraced her role as the big sister. She was fiercely protective of her sister into Kristi's teen and young adult years.

Like many teens, Stacey loved music and enjoyed collecting CDs of various artists with Jody Watley being a particular favorite. Modeling and fashion held a special interest for her and she modeled in local fashion shows throughout her high school years.

Following her 1981 graduation from Phoebus High School located in Hampton, Virginia , Stacey enlisted in the U.S. Army.  Unfortunately, an accident while training, prematurely ended her career and that dream.

Afterwards, she surrendered to wanderlust and took to the road, residing in various locations starting in Richmond, Virginia where she and Kristi were roommates. Subsequent locations included Washington D.C., Allentown, Pennsylvania, Shreveport, Louisiana, and Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Finally, she settled in Sellersville, Pennsylvania.

As a woman of faith, Stacey is now in the presence of her heavenly Father and the family is comforted in knowing that she reposes in peace.

We love you, dear Stacey, and look forward to being with you again in the Lord's paradise.

Stacey leaves to cherish her memory: Carole A. De Rouen, mother; and sister, Kristi De Rouen Magee (Everett).

Along with maternal uncle and aunt Lloyd Atkins (Dorothy), and Linda A. Chavis, she is survived by cousins Courtney A. Gaines (Carey), Ryan Chavis (Payton), and Stephanie A. Henderson (Philip).

Stacy was proud aunt of M.J. Jamison.

Surviving members of her paternal family include uncle Willard De Rouen (Connie), aunts Faye D. Coss, and Vicki Ann De Rouen Hough (Don).

A funeral service will be held at 11a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  Viewing will be from 9a.m. until the hour of the service on Friday.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
