Stephanie Artisia Chavis McNair was born on April 16, 1976. She departed this life unexpectedly on December 26, 2016. Stephanie was a devoted teacher with Newport News Public Schools until the time of her death. She taught at Magruder Early Childhood Center and John Marshall Early Childhood Center.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, December 30, 2016 at St. Johns C.O.G.I.C., 2416 Orcutt Ave., Newport News. Entombment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Viewing will begin at 1 pm on Thursday at the funeral home with a Wake Service from 6-7 p.m. Mrs. McNair will lie in state two hours prior to the service at the church on Friday. O.H.
