Thurlow Stubbs, 90, died on Saturday, April 22, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Newport News, VA. He attended Newport News Public Schools and afterwards entered military service, serving in both the Army and Navy. He later retired from the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station.

Thurlow was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Stubbs; and his only sister, Marion Bailey. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, a daughter, Estelle Scott; a son, Leo Jeter; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, April 29, 2017 at O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 3-6 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
