Valada Dolores Evans Hundley, 87, passed victoriously into the arms of Christ on Thursday, January 17, 2019 after a brief illness. Valada, a lifelong singer of gospel music, retired from Newport News Public Schools as a school nurse where she serviced the medical needs of many students throughout her career. Valada was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Hundley. Valada was married to John for over 63 years and produced two daughters, Jonna and Jenine, who are honored to cherish their marvelous family memories. Valada will be forever loved and truly missed by her family and friends.

A celebration of Valada's life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Shalom Baptist Church in Newport News, Virginia. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, Friday, January 25, 2019 at the funeral home with the family present to receive friends from 4:00-6:00 pm. Professional services are provided by O. H.
