Obituary

Valeria Argathia Wrenn departed this earthly world for her eternal home on Sunday, January 28, 2024, after a brief illness.  She was born October 1, 1937 to the late Robert D. and Eunice Bowman Wrenn.

Valeria attended public schools in Newport News, graduating from George Washington Carver High School, Class of 1954. She also attended Norfolk State College and later studied Secretarial Science at Peninsula Business School in Newport News.

Valeria moved to Norwalk, CT for a greater job opportunity and was employed by Calder, Inc. While there, she was a member of the Hat Corporation of America and the Norwalk Chapter of the NAACP.

At a young age, Valeria joined St. Paul AME Church and remained an active member for many years. She was a member of the Dora H. Brown Women's Missionary Society and the Wednesday Bread Ministry and the Lay Organization where she was honored in 2008 as a VA Conference Outstanding Layman.

Valeria loved to joke and was always clad in a smile. She was known to keep her nails beautifully polished. She was always willing to help anyone who needed her help. She just had a heart of gold!
