Walter Carnell Terry, age 69, of Hampton, Virginia unexpectedly transitioned to his heavenly home on March 16, 2018. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory: wife of 47 years, Gay Robinson Terry, two loving children, Michael of Milwaukee, WI and Joy of Hampton, VA, parents, Rev. John and Mary Small Terry of Plainfield, NJ, sister, Theresa Terry Williams of Harrisburg, PA, brother, Simeon Terry (Alma) of Corinth, TX, four granddaughters, Imani of Scranton, PA, Chanli and Chaiah of Milwaukee, WI, and Kymoni Young of Hampton, VA; three grandsons, Mychael, Mason and Malachi of Milwaukee, WI and a host of special cousins and friends that he held close to his heart. A homegoing celebration will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Temple, 3100 Butternut Drive, Hampton, VA 23666. There will be a family hour from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service. Local arrangements are entrusted to O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home, Newport News, VA.
