Willard "Bill" Morris Ellington Jr.,  beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was called to rest by the Lord on April 1, 2023 at the age of 66 at 12:12 p.m.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Willard Ellington Sr. and his mother, Daisy Ellington. Bill was a native of Newport News and graduated from Menchville High School. After high school Bill enlisted in the United States Army after which he worked for Drucker & Faulk as a Maintenance Supervisor until his retirement in 2023.  Bill was an amazing saxophone player who played locally with bands such as Shatter Proof, As One, Island Boy and many more because of his love for music.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Loretta Ellington, daughter, Tiffani McCarthy Nelson (Abraham); grandchildren, Cazzion McCarthy, Mykaila Moore, and Brandon Nelson; great grandchildren, Ahjaya Henry, Kazziona McCarthy, and Aziya Watkins; siblings, Ivan Huggard, Sheila Ellington, Stephanie Ellington, James Ellington (Sonja), nieces, nephews great nieces and nephews along with a host of good friends and band members.

A homegoing service will be held to celebrate Bill's life with family and friends at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, April 10, 2023.  Bill was loved enormously and will be greatly missed.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
