Obituary

William Wesley Campbell, lovingly called "Bro", was born in Newport News, Virginia on February 6, 1951 to Marion Barnes Campbell and the late William W. Campbell.  Growing up in a military family, "Bro" attended school in Newport News; Atlanta, Georgia; Plattsburgh, New York; and San Antonio, Texas.  He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio.  After high school, he attended and received several proficiency certificates and a diploma from San Antonio Commercial and Technical College that qualified him as a certified office machine operator.  Before having to retire from the workforce, "Bro" was employed with several local companies, including Avon and the Shipyard.

From a very early age, William loved to read the Word of God.  He accepted Jesus and joined First Baptist Church East End during his young adult years. "Bro" was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved music (especially jazz), going to concerts, beaches, and seafood.

William was a very quiet man with a sweet and loving spirit.  On April 21, 2022 our Heavenly Father called William to his eternal rest.  "Bro" is preceded in death by his father, William Campbell and his brother, Gregory Campbell.  He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Marion Campbell; his niece, Tashima Campbell; his great nephew, Solomon Campbell; special family friends, Gwendolyn Campbell and Reverend Lotus Wheeler; and a host of other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 28, 2022 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.  Viewing will be from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the funeral home.  O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
