NEWPORT NEWS - William "Rogers" Talton, 90, died Sunday, April 9, 2017. He was a native of Angier, North Carolina and a resident of Newport News, since 1950. He retired from Newport News Waterworks with over 30 years of service.

Rogers was preceded in death by daughter, Annie M. Ellis; son, Frederick O. Talton; sisters, Catherine Prince and Callie Riley; and brothers, Frank and John C. Talton.

He is survived by son, William "Ty" Talton (Nicole) of Carrollton; daughters, Cecelia Y. White (James) of Hampton; Angela Talton and Katina Sanders of Newport News; brother, Rev. Jimmy Talton (Daisy) of Brooklyn, NY; eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 15, 2017 at O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
